Jun 11 Randolphs Farm, Hurstpierpoint. Roman villa, road and pest house.
Jun 18 South Mailing. Monastic site and church.
Jun 25 Stone Pound, Hassocks. Roman cemetery.
Jul2 Newbridge. Bridge and site of chapel.
Jul 9 Halnaker Old Stone Age site, Roman road and windmill.
Jul 16 Stanmer. Church and estate village.
Jul 23 Toddington. A small Medieval hamlet.
Jul 30 Kings Barn, Steyning. Medieval site.
Aug 6 Applesham, Coombes. Lost village and old salterns.
Aug 13 Hill Barn/Worthing Golf Courses. Roman burial ground.
Aug 20 Heene. Lost village and remains of chapel.
Aug 27 Bank Holiday. No meeting.
Sep 3 Field Place, Goring. Old manor house.
We meet at the Resource Centre
(Davison House) Car Park, North Street, Worthing on Monday evenings at 6.45 for
7 pm
A donation is payable to the Resource Centre for the walks and all are welcome.
After the walks, we go to a pub for refreshment
SUMMER SOLSTICE
On June 21 we celebrate the
Summer Solstice at the Devil's Jumps, Hooksway near Chilgrove
The sun sets on the alignment of the Bronze Age barrows on this date
We do it each year whatever the weather
We meet at the Resource Centre car park at 6.30 pm
CHRISTMAS MEAL
We have a yearly get together for a meal before Christmas
This will be at The Swallows Return Inn, Goring on Monday November 26 at 6.30pm
We also celebrate the Winter Solstice at the Cricketers pub in Broadwater on
December 22 at 8 pm
